How to Set Up Automated Installation Services for Oracle Solaris 11
Four steps. Use the command-line to set up a an Oracle Solaris 11 system to act as an Automated Installer server. Create an installation service that will be automatically installed on clients. Test the installation service on the client, using default settings. And run the installation service again, but with custom settings. Isaac walks you through all four.

Java tracing tools are not as dynamic, unobtrusive, and feature-rich as DTrace. However, by combining Java Statically Designed Tracing (JSDT) and BTrace, you can insert DTrace probes into a Java application running on Oracle Solaris and trace the application as you would trace a Solaris application running DTrace.

How to Migrate to Oracle Solaris 11 with Live Install
This is the quickest way to upgrade to your Oracle Solaris 10 system to Oracle Solaris 11. Install a golden copy of Solaris 11 on a different system. Copy that image to an unused disk on your Solaris 10 system. Then reboot your Solaris 10 system as a Solaris 11 system. Solaris 11 uses the configuration from your original Solaris 10 system. Harold Shaw explains how.
